Ask about your dining privileges

I have been going out and having fine dining with my friends more often than usual recently.

From a financial viewpoint, I must say if you are looking to cut down on your expenses, fine dining is not the way to go. Once in a while is probably okay, depending on one’s budget. But really, if your objective is to cut down on expenses and save more money, and if it doesn’t matter where you fill your stomach, try visiting a foodcourt instead.

But sometimes, entertainment expenses is just inevitable, so how can we try to scrimp on our expenses without appearing, erm, too stingy?

Yeah, by using a credit card.

Certain restaurants do offer certain discounts or extra food items if you pay using a credit card. So do ask about your credit card dining privileges.

This is a good habit to form if you haven’t been doing so.

But sometimes, you may notice that you aren’t able to get any extra dining privileges even after you have asked because these restaurants do not have such tie ups.

A surer way of ensuring you can get more out of your fine dining experience is to do your homework beforehand. Have a list of your favourite restaurants that offers dining privileges with the credit card(s) you have. You can save the hassle and frequent my posts here or here. This way, you are almost guaranteed to be able to enjoy your credit card dining privileges.
