The annual Standard Chartered Marathon

2012 Standard Chartered Marathon is open for registration already!

This year, the organisers decided to restrict the number of slots available for the runners. Therefore, at this point of time, the popular 10km and half marathon as well as the Ekiden categories are already full. There are still slots for the full marathon and Kids Dash categories.

If any of the remaining available categories still appeal to you, do register quickly, because the early bird registration period will end on 26 July 2012.

What does this mean?

Take for example, for full marathon, the full price without any discount is $85, if you register during the early bird period, it’ll be $75. It will be a $10 savings!

For Kids Dash category, the price without discount is $20. With early bird promotion, it’ll be $18, a $2 saving!

But that’s not all, if you hold a Standard Chartered credit card, you can enjoy more savings when you make payment using your StanChart credit card.

The discount will be 15%.

If you register during the early bird period, for full marathon, the price with StanChart card discount would be $63.75 and if it’s after the early bird promotion, it’d be $72.25. From $85 to $63.75, it’s $21.25 savings!

For Kids Dash during early bird period, the price with StanChart card discount will be $15.30 and $17.00 if you register after the early bird period. A savings of $4.70 if you take advantage of the early bird and credit card discount now.

There is an additional perk for runners who participated in last year’s Standard Chartered Marathon. The discount is 20%. Early bird promotion + 2011 SCMS runner enjoy the best rates and savings to reward them for their loyalty. Next, would be early bird promotion + Standard Chartered credit card discount.

So if you are contemplating about joining this marathon and decided to, don’t forget to take away the best savings for yourself!
